Sorry for my lack of activity -_-'

Tue May 15, 2012, 12:05 PM

Hello everyone,
As said in the title; sorry for my lack of activity lately. Well... in fact I'm not really sorry in a sorry kind of way. Because, well... I know it's for my greater good. In fact this greater good is the Bachelor I'm doing right now. And if all goes well - and I pay enough attention to my subjects in the 1,5 month to come... - I might finish this BA course in July! Which means I'll be a Bachelor of Arts! Well... Not really the kind of art you're thinking of (unless you know me well enough). I'll be finishing my Dutch Language and Culture course and will continue to work on my Master afterwards.
In Doctor Who terms... I'll be Jack in two months if I'm lucky. Then I'll turn into the Master (which is my fav villain by far, even though Loki from the Avengers is awesome as well).
Anyway I just wanted to let you know. Right now I'm procrastinating... (see how well I'm doing at the things I noted above... Pay enough attention to the subjects... anyone noticed? Not doing that now, right?! Okay, I'll finish this journal and get back to work. Fine. If you want me too...)
The procrastination isn't too bad by the way. I'm working on my thesis. I'm doing a research on language and music in the brain. It's not as exciting as it sounds. I can't do any (evil) experiments, but I'll have to look at what is written in research papers about the subject and write a nice 'story' about it. But to be honest, I love it. I used to love to write papers. Only now I have to reference my sources correctly and do this in the text itself. And I have to show my own intellect, opinion and academic "vocabulaire". But the subject is really really awesome. I love language. I love music. I love brains. I love linguistics. So yeah, I'm happy. I'm one of the few who don't want to tear their thesis into small pieces of paper, if I may believe the teacher who's supervising my work. He also said he was glad to have a thesis like mine once in a while. It turns out I'm one of the few that didn't have major problems while working on it.. My problems are mainly stylistic ones. *knocks some wood, for I'm not finished yet*
Now working on the last bits. Those are the hardest. Because there is hardly anything in the literature about music in the brain. My introduction to that paragraph is longer than the actual description of where music is located in the brain. I'm trying to find some more information, but I'm afraid the text will not grow much longer.

Other news. I've had a great photoshoot with other Doctor Who fans. Lovely pictures came out of it! I'm not going to share them here (this is an sketch orientated account, so nope....), but I'll let you know if the photographers put them online.
And beware... I've seen the Avengers... I might as well loki you with drawings of Iron Man or Loki. I've already picked a nice screenshot of Iron Man that I want to draw.... So stay tuned, but don't be sad if it takes a while.
In summer I'll be back for sure! And on NanoWrimoCamp in August!

Hiya.
This nutter is me. I don't cosplay that often. To be honest I just started March '11 on Elf Fantasy Fair. But I quite liked it.
The first one is the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who. The second one is an attempt at the 10th Doctor for my own organised Doctor Who 'A Good Man Goes To War' meeting which was a big success =)
Since I don't feel that Cosplay is part of my so called "art" I prefer it just to be my ID instead.

Picasso said, “good taste is the enemy of great art” which I think is very true. Good taste has all to do with being cultured and being refined and if art has to do with anything, it has to do with being human. – R. Mullins
